Peter’s story is that of many Lucanian boys: he was born in Matera, but the reality of his environment isn’t expansive enough to contain the goals he set for himself. He studies to become an aerospace engineer, then a job offer from Germany changes his life. Today, he lives in Hamburg with his family, but his love for his homeland comes from the scent of the Sassi of Matera. It’s a scent, he says, that he feels under his skin.
