Giovanni is from Bernalda, and his wife Vera is from Banzi, but they live and work in Bari. One day, Vera’s company offers her a transfer to New York for an indefinite period, maybe a year, maybe longer. She accepts. Giovanni, while supporting her decision, does not plan to follow her: they have just bought a house in Bernalda and are in the middle of renovations. The prospect of such a radical change is not in his plans, but the circumstances and a touch of adventurous spirit make him change his mind. It is the beginning of his new life, of their new life.
