Creators, promoters, supporters, and protagonists narrate this ambitious project celebrating Lucanian culture worldwide, starting from the United States, Argentina, and Uruguay.
Basilicatamedia assists Basilicatë, and they work together. BASILICATË is a project created with the help of Lucanian communities in New York, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo. They aim to take a big picture of all Lucanians living abroad. They will hold exhibitions in New York, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Turin, participate in conferences, and publish a book. The title BASILICATË transforms the name of the region into a plural form with a special letter, Ë, to illustrate how culture changes when people migrate (tradition means passing things down and also changing them a bit). These variations still maintain the original roots but, due to exchanges with other cultures, they generate new forms of the same cultural identity.
